Launched in 2006 by London based designers, Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire, Mini Moderns is an interiors brand specialising in applied pattern across a range of products including wallpapers, fabrics, cushions, rugs and ceramics.

The initial collection was snapped up by Heal's and our brand continues to go from strength to strength, selling online and via selected stockists around the world. Their design influences range from mid-century British textiles to vintage toys, from literature to childhood memories. Travel also influences our work - and much of our inspiration comes from holidays and field trips, both at home and abroad.

MADE IN THE UK BY NICE PEOPLE.  Mini Moderns like to produce in the UK whenever possible. All their wallpapers, fabrics, cushions, tea towels and bags are made in the UK by people with whom they've developed long-standing relationships. Producing in the UK also helps to keep their carbon footprint down, by minimising the number of journeys a product makes before it gets to you.

Quirky fun designs samples can be supplied and orders taken. We do have some of the collection in sample books.

This is  a little background from the owner Sam Thornber

It is now many moons ago that my great, great, great, great, grandfather Benjamin Thornber made that leap from farmer weaver to out and out textile man. That monumental decision to uproot his family from his farm to the town of Burnley to pursue his dream has instilled a pioneering spirit in all of us at Art of the Loom to constantly strive to make our company more customer focused and easy to identify with.

Not so many years ago Art of the Loom was reborn out of a need to dedicate a brand to pure, natural fibre fabrics and this ethical voyage of discovery has enabled us to really make a difference to the UK textile manufacturing and finishing industry. Couple this with our distribution partnership, Carloway Mill - Harris Tweed, we really are doing all we can to enable you to ‘Buy British’.

We are very proud of this and we hope by using only; wool, linen, cotton and viscose in our ranges you too can appreciate the luxurious feel and genuine textures of mother nature’s fibres carefully woven into both traditional and contemporary fabrics.

So whether you are looking for a pretty little ticking stripe, a classic linen union floral print or a robust woollen plaid we hope we can meet our obligation to be the best we can be.

Our in house design team travel extensively, seeking inspiration in both colour and design to create fabric collections that are on trend, whilst still effortlessly easy to incorporate into your scheme.
